Types / Physicochemical Properties
Metal coil — is a rolled form of steel or other metals in long strips. Its usage typically covers galvanized, colored, or stainless steel sheets used in various industrial and construction sectors. These products are mainly applied in the production of roofing (corrugated sheets), ventilation systems, and metal structures.

Metal Coil Types
- Galvanized Coils: Coated with zinc for corrosion protection. Thickness typically ranges from 0.40 mm to 3.00 mm.
- Color Coated Coils (PPGI): These polymer-coated coils are intended for roofing production and are available in various color options.
- Cold Rolled Metal Coils: A material in coil form obtained by thinning and smoothing steel through a rolling process at room temperature.
- Hot Rolled Metal Coils: A metal material in coil form produced by rolling steel at high temperature (above the recrystallization temperature).
- Stainless Steel Coils: Highly corrosion-resistant materials used in the chemical and food industries.
- Aluminum Coils: Used in specialized structural works due to being lightweight and flexible.
Chemical Composition (Steel Metal Coil - General):
Composition depends on the steel grade (hot rolled, cold rolled, galvanized, etc.), but for a typical low carbon steel coil:
| Element | Quantity (%) |
|---|---|
| Carbon (C) | 0.04-0.25 |
| Manganese (Mn) | 0.25-1.5 |
| Silicon (Si) | 0.15-0.35 |
| Sulfur (S) | ≤ 0.04 |
| Phosphorus (P) | ≤ 0.04 |
→ The lower the carbon content, the more easily formed and welded the material is
